Hacking CCTV Systems

Hacking CCTV Systems. As the world get filled with security camera on every street corner, in your favorite doughnut shop watching every move you make. Sure makes it a lot easier for cops to plop their fat asses down and do nothing. What I would like to point out is "How secure are Video Surveillance Systems (VSS)?" best intentions are not always good, nor detour criminals. I would like to think that when a professional surveillance is contracted to install and monitor web based cameras they are also protecting their security network side, Ha! Don’t count on it. Not everyone has the technical knowhow, the time, and money to do it correctly. How many times have we seen that cable money installing a VSS? You are in pressed with the new technology giving you a sense feeling safer. Don't count on it, what you have installed is a gaping ass hole in your network that a person can troll right into you information. Of course I am not talking about your mom and pop stores; I am talking about your enterprise businesses. Concepts, Concept, does that cable monkey really know the details of the interconnecting methodology? Don’t bet on it. It is more than likely they are plug-in play and pay never considering to checking for security holes, patches or even worse leaving exposed CCTV cables. A sad thing to say is that these Professionals are no more talented that a 14 year old plugging in a extension cord. The home surveillance has took off in the last several years, just look around at all the stickers and signs everywhere, they are about as good as a plastic barking watch dog. I am not going to explain how to hack in to these systems "Google it" look for the brand name of camera(s) is a good place to start, many of these companies post security updates for anyone to read.
